Family-Friendly Experiences
Designed with local moms, our experiences are welcoming, comfortable, and enjoyable for travelers of all ages.
Food. Culture. Local Connections.
We connect travelers with the real Kanazawa through food, culture and local experiences. Every experience is carefully designed by a licensed local guide with deep community connections.
Three to start. We add more once we know what people actually want.
Kids welcome
Omicho Market before the crowds. You pick, the sellers explain, we translate — then we sit down and eat it. Ends before the kids get restless.
Evening
Riverside at golden hour, then a craft beer poured by someone we have known for years.
Kids welcome
Your kids meet Kanazawa kids. Nobody speaks the same language and it works anyway.
Not a long list. These are the three things our guests bring up afterwards.
Designed with local moms, our experiences are welcoming, comfortable, and enjoyable for travelers of all ages.
Meet local people and discover places you wouldn’t find on your own.
Led by a licensed local guide with deep knowledge of Kanazawa and strong community connections.
We would rather be the perfect fit for some travellers than an average one for everyone.
New tours, the people we work with, and what is actually on in Kanazawa this season.
What changes at the market, and why we move the morning tour an hour earlier.
Ten years of buying beer from the same counter, and what we still argue about.
The one week a year the garden looks like nothing else in Japan.
At Taste Kanazawa, we believe travel should connect people—not only visitors, but also local communities.
Every tour supports local businesses, creates opportunities for cultural exchange, and helps children grow up feeling that the world is closer than they imagined.
Through food and authentic experiences, we connect local communities with the world and inspire people to feel closer to other cultures.
Born and raised in Ishikawa, I am a licensed local guide based in Kanazawa. After studying abroad in Toronto, Canada, I returned to Japan and founded Kanazawa Brewery Inc., then the only craft brewery in Kanazawa, in 2015. I spent the next 10 years producing and selling craft beer while building strong connections within the local community. After stepping down as CEO in 2025 following the birth of my son, I began a new chapter focused on connecting the local community with the world.
Tell us who is coming and how old they are. We will tell you honestly what works — and what we would skip.
