Half a day at my side, through the counters and workshops I keep coming back to
This is the walk I do with old friends visiting from abroad. We start at Omicho Market where the fishmongers know me from ten years of buying my own dinner there, stop at a sake brewery I've been drinking at since my brewing days, and end at a tea house I still don't share with just anyone. Nothing here is scripted — I'm introducing you to people, not reciting facts.
I'll be waiting at the Tsuzumi Gate. We'll walk the first few blocks together so you get your bearings before the day really starts.
We skip the stalls built for tour groups and head to the alleys where I do my own shopping — crab, seasonal fish, and pickles no guidebook will point you to.
A private tasting at a family brewery I've known since I ran my own. We talk fermentation, not just flavour notes, and you'll try releases that never leave the prefecture.
A working studio, not a showroom. You'll watch the painting up close and hear from the artisan himself why Kutani's five colours have lasted centuries.
We finish at a quiet tea house tucked into Higashi Chaya, with seasonal sweets and a slow bowl of matcha. This is where the day winds down.
Kanazawa Station, Tsuzumi Gate (East Exit). I'll be holding a Taste Kanazawa sign — please arrive 5 minutes early.
Full refund up to 8 days before the tour. 50% refund 7–4 days before, 20% refund 3 days to the day before, and no refund on the day itself. Cancelling because of the weather is different: full refund up to 24 hours before.
